Interesting analysis.
Nevermind69, with all due respect please do a credible analysis before jumping the gun will you? The writer specifies the very fact that most Nepalese people, fail to land a lucrative job in United states primarily because of their non-working status but also because of their lack of linguistic proficiency and education (the latter holds true for most Diversity visa winners who are not very well spoken in English and/or did not acquire academic qualification from United States). But honestly, even an educated person like you (which you supposedly are) fail to delineate yourself as an erudite as you spew tirades like you just did above.

Sabai jana marchhan ra marinchhan americama Nepali matra haina. We only know about Nepalese that's the only difference. What an inferior feeling and attitude this guy has? Many Nepalese are employed in reputed companies across the US. They are doing good job there. Think positive and have a positive attitude my fren.

This kind of title and article only makes us weak and humiliated and create inferiority complex in us so stop writing and thinking these things. Think as Laxmi Prasad Devkota said like ".............udi chandra chhunu eka".

Who is this writer and others to set the standard of what is good job and what is not. it is a personal matter. for dv winners from outside of kathmandu, who are barely living their lives in small towns even working in a gas station and earning 2k to 3 k a month means a lot. I've seen a lot of successful hard working Nepalis who have worked day and night and saved enough to buy a house in ktm or spend and opened their own business in usa after 4-5 yrs. they would definately not have if they had not come here. like someone said up there, other people in gas stations get robbed and killed too. we don't know about them cuz they don't come post in sajha or we don't care. not saying it's ok for our people to get killed but i would rather die trying to work and make money than not taking my chances and be poor and die every day. most Nepalis working in gas station are students and since they can't work legally their desi owners manupulate them and put them in risk. if we really wanna do something may be we should file a petition to USCIS to grant Nepali students work permtis for economic hardship of the country, which may sound silly but it would be an effort, or make our bros and siss aware of hardship in usa for international students so they won't come. posting message like this is just identifying the problem, we all know what the problem is no need to identify, now let's look for alternatives to fix the problem and pick the best one too.

There a lot more americans working in gas-stations, motels and restaurant than nepali by the way for your information. And you say its low paying job, if you make 1500-2000 dollar a month, it is pretty decent money because line of poverty in america is 18000 dollars a year by the way minimum wage for most state are around 7.50 and most nepali working in gas station are paid more than that cash. Everybody is getting approved for car loans or using credit cards with same income. Well i wanna ask writer how much you make and what level of income do you think is decent. Go and count how much nepali die everyday in racial clash or in vehicle accident and try to improve those. All working in gas station here are trying live better, see their childrens go to school and become something. Did you hear any nepali killing or being involved in sucide bomb you son of gun. its better to see working hard and continuing their life rather than doing crime. To be killed in a gas station, you do not have to be working there, you might be in wrong place at wrong time, and as somebody mentioned earlier lotta people die everyday in buisness robbery either gas station or bank, car accident, lung cancer, some sucide, but your ears hear only about nepali because sajha users are nepali and those stuffs are covered by nepali media. Best solution for us to stay alive and save our arse from robbery is stay inside home or wear a bullet proof vest everytime you go somewhere.

finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, 8848m, finallyyyyyyyy... enough of this Nepalis trying to live up their life with other Nepalis expectations... this writer and others ...nosy fkers have no business to tell what us need to do , where we need to work and how we should be living up our lives.. stop setting expectations for others just cuz they're Nepalia.. and quit comparing and setting expectations just cuz they are Nepalis.... if you want to compare and perform better compare with successful Americans..japanese.... etc etc... stop comparing with where other Nepali are working and judging them........or worse, get inferiority of superiority complex comparing with other fellow countrymen....

Guys what is fact is fact. All knows, in America work is work. So some of us need to understand is that they are humiliating themselves as they think they work lower category work. But there is not such thing like that. The only thing we need to be careful whatever and wherever we work. It's a bitter truth that few of our brothers faced the terrible accidents. So we must accept the truth and work for stopping it happen again and again. Yes, of course it does happen not only with Nepalese. But we our concern is Nepalese because we care about each other. I have seen large number of population those working out of their scope, i mean they are over qualified for jobs they are working now. So we need to make a mechanism that can help me, you and every one for the safety of all of our Nepalese brothers and sister. We are here with big dreams and big mission. So we have to accept what is truth and learn how to move forward

The article has some sense.
I don't know about other states, but where I live, there are lots of well educated and some skilled DV holders and Asylums doing jobs in gas stations, motel, restaurants, subway and as a taxi driver. I'm not talking about students (cuz they are here for studies and dont have other options except economic hardships). But other people who can work in other mainstream business and government jobs are reluctant towards these kinds of more safer job. We dont want our next generations to do same kind of jobs. So I request all my brother and sisters to think something for advancement of our Nepalese community members. If we dont have good english we can go to adult school, go back to school for getting foreign degree or join any other extension professional and skill courses. Personally, I'm going to adult school to improve my English.
