Hello friends, i was wondering if you guys knew what's the best route to refi a car loan. I bought a toyota corolla last year, but since i was the first time buyer and my credit score was only 615 at that time they put me for 19.99 % apr. i put down 2 k and the loan amount is 12 k. I have a stable job now and it's been a year i've been making payments on time and more than the minimum required. I also have lots of balance on my credit cards. however, my credit score is still only 655. most of my friends score jumped after few months of car payemtns but mine didn't, any idea? i tried refinancing through credit union but they declined saying lack of enough job history. i hold a new perm job for like 3 months, been working fulltime for two years and i've been in the country for 5 years. what do you guys suggest, i feel like i deserve better than 19.99 blood sucking apr.

hahaah, let me tell you how to buy a car, with 0% APR, even with a bad credit, but you have to have a job though. Bring you latest pay stub and 50% of car price in cash. 90% of car dealer will give u car in 0%. Don't go to mega dealer, pick and choose, ready to walk away if the deal doesn't work and pretend you know all the math behind it. Talk talk talk, is the simple formula.

Holy shit! 20 percent ? Are you kidding me? Dude, If I were you, I'd order a new Credit report, get it, and fax it too all finance companies. I'm paying 6 percent on my 2008 Accord.

Sad to hear your part of the story, but you wont get a good rate on refinancing unless and then you pay off you credit card delinquent balances. Just cause you pay your car payment on time doesn't make your credit score jump!!! Credit card balances are what hold you score, So my advice is pay the credit card balances ASAP, and then wait a month then go talk to a local credit union!!! If you live around East coast try https://www.itcu.org/ they have good rates on auto refinance. Hope this helps and good luck with increasing your credit score!!!!
