If you open on safe mode and log on as administrator and change the pass word.
turn on your computer and press f8 or (F9 or F10 or F11 exactly not sure which one ) until you see safe mode ( done in dell)

Tech guys! I would also like to add my problem in this thread. My laptop is HP PavilionDV5-1235dx, its been more than a year so I have no warranty in HP Head, the battery of this laptop is like a stand in my laptop, the problem is the screen shakes frequently when its running, in fact it shakes more when i adjust the lid of the laptop(open, mid level and close). Feels like its gonna be blank one day. Do you guys have any idea about it? Let me know the solution please. thanks

Simpleman's suggestion will be taken as a last resort. There are lot easier way to retrieve password. Atomic: I am not a tech person but it seems your laptop may be experiencing some video problem. There is some way to check if the video is working properly. Or offload the video driver and re-load again. Do not take my word for sure, just telling you a probable cause.
