I want to trade in my old car and want to buy a new one. I am confused which one to buy as I don't like to buy another car for at least 10 years. Please suggest me with your experience.

What is your budget? I would go with Toyota or Honda. You can easily drive new Toyota or Honda for next 10 years without any issues. I have Camry Hybrid and I am loving it.

Ok email18 and Aug 25,1997.
My budget is 20-25k.I am interested in Honda(Civic exl w/nav) but mazda 5 miata hardtop caught my eye. It looks affordable too but I don't know pros and cons of these cars. I am not finding more options to get good car at good price. Look, fuel efficiency are my major concerns and definitely it should not go beyond my budget.

Rather than Civic, I would go for CR-V. It looks nice, inside and outside, and is quite a pleasure to drive. Gas mileage is decent. It ranks at the top in resale value. And above all, it is very reliable.
Mazda 5 too is a nice option, more so if you have small children. It is a microvan, as opposed to minivan, so do not expect it to be roomy like Siena or Odyssey. It also does not have the power sliding door. But it's 4 cylinder engine is peppy, gives good mileage and is fun to drive. Moreover, you can get a loaded Mazda 5 for your budget.

gaurab_100003,
Your suggestion is good but I am fed up with pre-owned vehicles..Almost every alternate month, something goes wrong and I need to spend some hundreds for nothing. Kangal huna lagisake ma yesto talle.Rather I won't buy any car, but I am never going to buy any used car in my life. and I also don't like toyota.
Riten, ya CR-V looks nice but is little expensive compared to civic (exl)

The value of new car slides $2000-$3000 right after you take your car out from the dealers. I would suggest buying used car (3-4 years) and mileage around 20,000-30,000. It appears Honda or Toyota would be best deal in terms of maintenance. I myself is eyeing on Honda Accord 2008 or newer EX-L. But can't afford more than $18,000.

ipwn and nepalkolato,
Though buying a-year-or-so old car is a good idea, I don't like to go for it. And it's because I have seen so many problems with two of my previous used cars.
Bhojpure01, I currently have a vehicle like in your link. So, I am in no way will choose pre-owned car. I just need an economic and 0 mile car, I am even fed up of fueling premium gas.
To everybody, Is civic 2010 exl w/nav a good car? What is the best price for it? I want to decide the price at home, first and then like to go to the dealers. Otherwise the dealers are so "chitiya" that it is almost impossible to convince them for anything. I am thinking to pay no more than 21,500 for it if I decide to buy it.
As of now, Civic exl w/nav is on top of my list. How good is it as compared to other new cars? ( any cars but not the used ones).

Most Navigation equipped car are high in alert for vandalism. Depending upon your city and your parking status, you must consider it. For Sports car , I liked the Celica too and you can have two more people in the rear so in case if you have to haul 3 or more people it will be extra benefit. Buying car is totally personal choice, most Nepali prefer Japanese cars , it is my personal view. 0 mileage car with one hand and matured driving will last longer than anticipated unless it is killed by rust. Not all re-certified car has problems. Do you drive stick / manual? I drove 280K or over and sold for 550 , wanted to buy back next day and offered 600, he kept it and told me will graduate with it. Goodluck.

bhojpure01,I would prefer non-nav car but as I see not much difference(price) in having and not having it, I am in a mindset to go for w/nav. My gps would be useless however. :( And interestingly, I did not find any 2010 honda civic exl or exl w/nav in any of dealers in western side of united states. So as of now, 2011 is on top of my choice and exl vs exl w/nav is still a debate for me. I am thinking to buy a car on this saturday. I just want to get rid of my annoying car. What do you suggest exl or exl w/nav? I did not find celica anywhere but saw its replacement- Scion Tc which does not look attractive like celica. How is mitsubishi eclipse? I wish I would buy a manual sports car, but it's not only me, my would-be-wife is not convinced with it, so 2 seated is now out of my list. I would still be interested if it is like celica but I did not find it.I am really in a great dilemma.

About civic, I would prefer SI 4 door with high performance tires, For fuel economy as well fun to drive is manual car, comes with 2.0 engine will feel better than 1.8 engine. Choice of color is reflects personality and nature, if I have choice I will go with darker but not black. Does it comes with 6 speed, I will not choose triptonic or what ever they say.

I think they have both, you will learn to drive manual car in 1 hour. Not a big deal. When you take off and change the shift you will feel the difference driving an automatic and manual car. It is like driving a kinetic scooter and Honda ( Japanese) motarbike.

bhojpure01, As I said earlier in this thread that I like to drive manual car. But it's not only me so, I have to go for automatic one. Did you find Civic Si Automatic(5) anywhere? So far I know, Honda will never make any automatic SI's ( performance cars).
