I just install comcast highspeed internet and they charge me $5.00 bucks per month for rent a modem. I won Westell Versalink Model 327W wireless DSL modem/router in ebay. I am wondering it that modem works in comcast system. Please help me.

Comcast modem has cable input. So check if there is a hole in the modem where you can insert your cable wire.

comcast sucks man, I had it for 2 yrs, got very expensive too, Im on fios now and loving it. Im paying $50 less for a lot more channels Hi def and internet seems faster. I dunno man, They just have too many hidden charges. good luck

What is fios and how you order that? Do you have to self install? How much is the cost? Is there monthly bill? Do you also get Hindi channels?
Please help. I am also not satisfied with Comcast. Their hd is not true hd. Internet is also slow even with 6mbps.

Make sure you got the right one, if not paid yet , you can email and cancel it. On Amazon , buy.com, Frys.com , overstock.com may have competitive price and easy to return. Get one that has built in wireless.
Hidden fees are every where.

lol whoever is defending Comcast with fios Learn one thing : Not any ISP out there on moment can beat fios . Comcast from 4yrs now capping their Upload speeds throatling speeds in other hand Fios gives best speeds which is worth paying . I used 25MB/s up and Down package last yr and i was satisfied for what i was paying 8MB/s Download Straight 5MB/s upload Straight no throttling  no caps on speeds.

well then you have no idea about the comcast extreme tier (105 mb) for just $50.00,, and home internet and on the go together for $54.99,,, find me that deal in FIOS... Comcast is been weeping FIOS asss for long time,,,,,,

LoL i used to work with comcast for more then ayear had their best isp service which ofcourse no monthly payment for Employees of comcast then i moved to fios by paying monthly now guess how much did it sucked that i had to go for paid option even i worked with comcast.

Ok beat that over 200 channels including many sports and local channels,High speed internet and phone, only $89+tax no hidden charges, and its just basic  package, and comcast i was paying nearly $120 monthly with all the similar features but a LOT LESS Channels for the their version of BASIC which has nothing. OC101 jiu I had comcast for 2+yrs and they sent me a letter saying that they were doing some modification and I had to buy another digital box because I will not be able to watch some of my channels and my monthly was going up like 20 more$$, so I contacted verizon, Got even better deal. You keep on enjoying comcast bro, Ill enjoy my Fios, Ive never been more satisfied. You are talking here to Ex comcast consumers pal, nothing new for us that you can tell that we already dont know.

I am not talking about Monthly Cost of ISP's here i was merely relating Speeds difference / policy on Comcast and Fios . I use Dedicated Gbit servers and i can't stand infront of throttling Speeds by these freaking ISP companies they never deliver what they say while selling their Plans . But Fios was only one i had come across which gave me best speeds bad luck place where i live got no Fios or comcast only Timewarner whose Download speeds are good upload speed sucks .

different life different choices,,, only point to notice is Verizon was and is a phone company,,,,,,,,,and Comcast was and is a cable company,,,,,,,,,, you decide. which can take care,,,,,,,,,which better.   

LoL grow up Verizon had their Phone service /wireless services(cell phones),ISP Services all time new thing in Verizon is Fios . If you don't know fact would be good to check around first .
In last 7yrs in US i have used TimeWarner Cable /Comcast/Verizon Fios /AT nT Uverse ISP's only best i had among them is Fios none of them could beat their plans i accept Fios plans are little bit expensive but they are worth paying if you really need good speeds .

Well, I believe in paying  as per my need which is being economical without sacrificing need.
If you can work on 3-5 Mbps , why pay more for 100 Mbps?

My inputs:
I use Comcast ($19.99+39.99+24(15mbps DN, 2 Mbps UP)). I wanted FIOS but FIOS is not there. I used FIOS before in my previous home. All I needed was Internet, but Sprint mobile was asking $40 for mobile broadband,  I love Verizon but I can't get Verizon DSL in my area.. Dish Network was $29.99 and Verizon phone was $19.99. So my bill of $84 is not that bad in comparison but I don't want to pay this; it is still expensive. My bottom line is I need Internet, and dialup is not good.
