Hi folks, after lots of trying, i recently got invited for a job interview in a good biotechnology company. I had applied for a lab position but the problem is it has been about 5 years since I last studied biological science or worked in a laboratory environment. I recently completed my graduate degree but it is not related to biological Science. In other words, i got invited for the interview purely on the merit of my undergraduate degree and lab experience from Nepal. So I am little bit nervous and i am not sure what kind of questions are they gonna ask. Will they ask questions relating to lab and field of job ? How should I be prepared? Any tips on this will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Here's what i suggest. 1: Be formal, Possibly wear Suit, that's more professional don't just wear shirt and tie, don't forget to wear watch, that shows you're a timely person. 2: Try to go at least 15 minutes early, don't reach it on exact time. In corporate level, reaching in exact time means you're late. 3: Be prepared to answer any question no matter in what circumstances, speak soft and slow, don't just speak whatever comes in your mind. While answering look at the interviewees eyes, don't look at the walls and windows. 4: Try to be confident on what you are talking about and yourself, feel comfortable. 5: Do you have a knowledge about your position and most imp know something about the company like when was it established, how many employees it has approximately, what does it do, what is the share value of that company in the market, just a basic stuffs and also know about the position that you will be working for. That makes them feel like you are well prepared for the interview. 6: Last but not the least always be prepared with some questions at the end. Always have at least couple of question for the interviewee, questions regarding about the company not about their daughter or where did they spent their fall break.
Good Luck bro, bd

Thanks Bd, and one more question blokes, what to say about your weakness? Any ideas to reveal your weakness that actually doesn't look bad or look more appealing?

They probably won't ask you what are you weakness bhanera. They might ask you what is your strength, in that case tell them, i have a quality of things getting done quickly when i am in a team. I have a oceans full of patience, if things didn't get done in one attempt, i don't mind trying second or third time. Overall don't make them feel like you're a weak person. Show them that you are capable of doing any work in the company if needed.

The thing that has worked for me is going with the mindset of "I will just have fun." I felt very confident that way and everything was a breeze. Might not work for you.

I am also looking for a job, I always had tough time to answer a single question
"Do u have any questions for me?"
Do u guys have any suggestions for me
Should I ask a lot about their company?
One one sense, it might seems that I am too interested on their company :) but on other sense I am too dumb and I didn't know any thing about that comapny :(
Or should I ask kind of managerial question ? what do u expect from ur college or ur subordinates who mostly reports u

First Go to interview as if you already got the job, interview is just a formality before you get hired this is mantra repeat it, tell your mind that over and over again.
Now Do's and Don'ts Do's Always smile Know the company. Know the job description. Know your Resume well. Speak clearly Look into the eyes directly when you speak Complete your sentences, Sell yourself (as if you are a product) Give examples when you answer Tell what value you can add to their company
Don'ts Show attitude in the front desk or even in lobby haste to give answer let interviewer finish their question first Speak slow or fast Try to fake accent be original think too much or get overwhelmed

@kya_naam_disturb
There are so many things you can ask. The main point is don't make it look like an interview. Have a conversation. Ask the interviewer how does he like working for the company. What he does not like about it ( I used to ask what are 3 things you dont like so much about the company and wish it were different?)? Show that you are really interested in knowing. People care more about themselves than others. So, he would be excited to talk about himself and also will make him have a position feeling for you. You can also ask about growth plans of the company.
Read "How to Win Friends and Influence people" if you already haven't. It's a pure gem.

Interviewers like their candidate to be confident. Remember that you are 75% hired already.As soon as you meet anyone do a strong hand shake with a direct eye contact.As easy as it may sound, this is where candidates start everything.And they make other 25% in the next 30 secs. PS: Talking football always entertains everyone. Good luck.
