I am going to renew my drivers license but the new ones have 'temporary-visitor' tag on them. Is there a particular city or county that doesnt do this or is it all Texas wide? thanks.

 Do you have a SS number? 
If yes, renew it online. They assume you as a US citizen and no temp-visitor will be stamped.

This is not only in particular city its all around the Texas.And about online renew once I tried it but the system didn't allow me coz normally F1 students needs the enrollment paper from University in order to renew the liscence so I don't think we can renew it online.

furke, how can we renew our s.s. number ra. Not that i know of that anybody renewing their s.s number. I don't even think that thre would be expiration date on the s.s. card. hoina ra? Correct me if i am wrong please?

  dude he is talking about renewing driving liscence online If u have SS number. he said SS number holder can renew liscence online directly.

@Furke .. do they assume us US citizen ?? or we provide wrong information by claming ourself as US Citizen ?

1. Card will expire in less than one year and has not been expired for more than two years.
2. Last renewal was in person at a Texas Driver License office.
3. Between 18 and 79 years of age.
4. Cannot have a Class A or B driver license, or a commercial
   driver license.
5. Vision, physical, or mental condition has not changed in a way that
   affects ability to operate a motor vehicle.
6. Not currently suspended or have outstanding traffic tickets or warrants.
7. US citizen.
8. Social Security number on file with the Department

Do you meet the requirements and have all of the following items?

1. Your current DL/ID card in your possession and;
2. Valid credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express);
3. The last four digits of your Social Security Number.
