Was in an accident (not my fault)...now everything is done(calling insurance company, taking estimates,photos)...now rental car's guy is calling me for their service but i want to take the money and i don't want to fix it to tell you the truth.....what do i have to do to take the check.....instead of going to repair shop.

Who is the rental car's guy? Did you rent the car or the guy who hit you was renting the car?

Most insurance companies give you choice: Go to repair shop and they will take care of the bill or Issue the estimate check in your name and you can do what ever you want. 

@stiffler:the guy who hit me is renting the car(his insurance co)...........we didn't have any problem.........but now insted of sending me the check..i'm receiving calls from rental car..........but i don't want to fix it but take the money n that shoudn't be a problem....so do u think i have to call his insurance company ...if "yes" then what shoul i say???

What you can do is get an assesment of cost to repair the car from a local garage. They will do it for you free. Send this assesment to the rental car company and ask for payment. Once they pay that's for you to keep, repair or not is your discretion.

Ask them why they haven't sent the check yet. Tell them, your budget is fixed and you don't want to use your money to fix your car, specially since it is the guilty party's responsibility.

Tell them you dont need rental car because you have another car and ask them to send personal check so that you can repair at the place you want !
Now a days insurance company are being smart so they want to estimate and repair on their place but tell them u have your own body shop maker who will do fast and nice work !
