We Nepalese are so full of shit. We don't really care for anyone. All we are worried about is our own life. We like to be proud of being a Nepali, sagarmatha, sita.
We were proud of our royal family , and they were killed like animals(even animals are treated respectfully these days) and we didn't do nothing.
Shame on all of us nepelase...

Eternal,

When i think of countries who gave Nepal head of the state a warm welcome, two countries comes into my mind. UK and China

China still pays respectable appreciation for the Head of Nepal during Formal Visitations. I think china does that for its own strategic advantage. It has put Nepal into the list of first neighbours for couple reasons.

1. To make sure Nepal respects One China Policy
2. To make sure Nepal does not become a playground for "Free Tibet movement"
3. To Participate equally as India in influencing Nepali politics
4. To be appreciative of kiing Mahendra and King Birendra's for appreciating Chinese Communist Party and its ideas. The kings were closer to chinese communists than democratic India. King Mahendra borrowed the socialistic economy and created many state owned industries in Nepal with Chinese Help. King Birendra seeked Millitary and economic assistance from Chinese Maoist Party than democratic forces in India.

So the way China treats nepal head of the state has not changed.

Next one is UK which had following reasons to paid warm welcome to the Nepal head.

1. Loyalty to the queen for over 200 years. Over 200k Nepali forces worked for Britishers to suppress the independence movement in India for over 100 years. Till this day Nepal has opened UK to recruit Nepali citizens to be hired for tougher task but lesser pay and lesser rights.

2. Relationship of Royalty, as both were Royals...they probably had little stronger relationship than what we have here.

Other than those two countries......Nepal leaders have been dealt pretty much the same way. India has never treated head of the Nepal as more than a " Mukhya Mantri for a state" ....In US, many times Nepali PM in the past have not even gotten an appointment to meet the president...they do not even get an appointment to meet the sec of state.

Poon Hill,

I also believe that Birendra was the proper last King of Nepal. Wasn't there a prophet (Jyotisi) in Syanja District of Nepal at a place called Maya Taadi or something who accurately predicted that Birendra would be the last and the Eleventh King of the Shah Dynasty? Here is something even more outrageous; he predicted King Mahendra's exact age he would die premature. That was when all hell broke loose and the holy man was thrown into jail for being a royal traitor. King Mahendra died of a heart attack during a Chitwan hunting trip at the same age as the baba had predicted. He was subsequently released from prison.

Anybody know more about this "Maya Taadi ko Jyotisi"???

i too had heard something about the end of the dynasty  on eleventh generation. it was believed long before the royal massacre took place, that somehow it would end on eleventh generation king. i too had heard that. (gyanendra is eleventh generation too). i also have heard that the monarchy would be re-established within seven years of  the republican order and hridayendra would be the king.i dont believe on these predictions bhawisyawani..but  i definitely would like it..if this prediction turns out to be true.
