i guys,

I am on extended OPT and working as a software consultant.
I work in the following fashion.

Me-> Vendor 1(Indian Consultancy 1) -> Vendor 2(Indian Consultancy 2) ->Prime Vendor (American Consultancy)->My Employer

My employer denied giving me the client letter but the prime vendor is willing to provide me a client letter stating my roles and responsibilities as a consultant. I am just worried if I file H1- will my case be approved.  Also, I am paying the H1 expense myself and time is very expensive right now.

What do you guys say ? Should I go for it ?

DO we need a client letter to file H1? these days ZZZZZZZZZZZZ................
I thought all you need was a job offer letter from your employer, which in your case was a Vender 1 ( the compnay where you get your paycheck from)

I would suggest you find a better lawyer, if you are paying your own expenses. If I were you, I would not give a single penny to file H1, when they are making money out of you.

My suggestion, Don't file H1 with your current employer (the current vendor 1), they will screw up with you big time in teh future, once you have H1. remember you will have low hand once in H1.

Since you are in OPT, change the vendor, there are enough these days. there are enough job in the markets as well, and don't worry, H1 quota wont  be full till the end of October.

THREATAN your vendor !!! that you will quit the job and go directly with prime vendor or someone else

These days USCIS need client letter and will send you denial notice if you could not provide all the needed documents. You can do one thing - File with prime vendor's client letter for now and in case if you got RFE asking Employer client letter then you can go to employer and ask them to write some letter stating you work as a contractor. You can just ask to client manager(to whom you report in Main Employer office) to write something stating you work under him/her. This should help.
Since your Prime vendor has mentioned your role as consultant that means he is also deploying you to some client location. If your prime vendor could give a client letter mentioning you work for their internal project then you do not need client letter from your employeer. But this is not highly recommended.
Better talk with your main employeer and ask them to give some letter or something stating you work for them. You do not have to tell them to give client letter...they might not give client letter but will give something in written ...simply tell them that you are filing for H1B visa and USCIS needs some document/letter from them.
Best of Luck!!

something of similar fashion should solve the purpose.
kalo_chasma is right, you don't need to involve HR from your client, your Manager is enough. this is waht I got from my clinet when I went for H1 visa stamping.................

I wrote the letter,a nd asked my manager to sign below for me. he made some changes to the wordings.
