Hi,
Can you please recommend an excellent digital SLR camera? My budget is just US$1000 - inclusive of everything: body, lenses, accessories. Thanks much.

What about Nikon D3100? It comes with additional 51-200mm lens and is just a shade below $1K.

Dude! If you gonna buy Sony Tv of 40 inch with 60 hz refresh rate costs only 585 where as same tv with 120 hz costs almost 800. Why is that? Its all with the features man. There is whole Rebel series of canon and camera of Nikon too in which as you can say buy it . But see the features and check it as per your need too.

So after some research, I have narrowed down my choices to the following:
Canon EOS Rebel T3i
Nikon D5100
These two are more or less the same. So here's my question to you shutterbug geniuses. Which one would you choose and why?
Or....
Should I splurge and just get
Nikon D7000
Any suggestions?

I want to buy Canon Rebel T2i body and lens separatly (~$445 just for body). I think this way I can choose the lens that I want rather than the standard 18-55mm comes with the kit. For a beginer in dslr, which lens would be right choice for T2i?

Which camera to choose totally depends on WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM A CAMERA (??)
With Budget of $1000 my recommendation would be Nikon 5100 (Body Only) + 35 mm f/1.8 (prime) lens!! [this would make you better photographer[ 35mm in DX =~ human field of vision]!!
(You can buy Canon/Sony/Olympus too, after all it's a personal preference)

For Canon, I suggest 50mm F1.8 II "nifty fifty" lens..if buying lens separately. Have fun! Of course you ll need a telephoto zoom lens for longer range ...at the beginning it is fun playing with depth of field/bokeh shots with this lens. Price ~$100
