hi friends,
I had my interview for h1 stamping along with my spouse 4 days ago. They didn't ask me any complex question. They just told me that they will take upto 1 week to issue a visa for both of us. I called them yesterday(after three days) but they said it is still pending.
I want to know if anyone here had been though similar situation. My return date is just one week away.
Thanks in advance.

Bro i had a similar situation last december. I had emailed them, tried to call them but no response. I finally went in there on 23rd december just couple of days before i had to leave and thank god they had it done just the day before. So what i suggest is keep on checking with them everyday and let them know when your return day is hopefully they'll have it done before you leave so that you wouldn't have to change your flight. Good luck!

I was there on April 2011, all they asked me was random questions like, when are you getting married, are you enjoying your vacation and stuff!!
He knew my college and my work place. So may be that was a Plus point for me!!
I got my Visa the next day!!
All the best to you guys.........nothing to worry if you have correct papers!!

i am also planning to come for H1B stamping in OCT 2011.
Have anyone heard of rejection of H1B visa yet.
I work for a Consultate Company here. But i dont work as a contractor i work as a fulltime employeel they pay my holidays, pto, health benefits. I get paid even if i am not working with any client.
I talked to my lawyer and she says that they will take care of the papers of employee verification.
She was also stating that you might have to go through administrative processing which will take time.
My current project will be ending on september 23 and i am planning to take the remaining PTO and go to Nepal will it be a good idea.
Anyone have any other issues these days in KTM for H1B stamping....

Probably you can do similar with consulate at nepal...
http://tijuana.usconsulate.gov/petition_based_visas.html
http://stampingatnogales.blogspot.com/2008/02/pims-check.html
Important Notice
May 6, 2008
Petition-based visas (H, L, O, P categories)
Consular officers may no longer accept Form I-797 as sufficient evidence for visa adjudication. Petition approval and visa eligibility must be confirmed in the Department of State's Petition Information Management Service (PIMS) database. PIMS verification takes on average 24-48 hours to complete. A visa will not be authorized in the interim.
Beginning in early April, the Visa Appointment Service began requesting the approved I-129 petition receipt number at the time the applicant schedules his/her appointment. If you scheduled an appointment at the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana previously, we recommend that you fax a copy of your approved I-797 to the NIV section at least 72 hours prior to your interview date (fax: +52-664-634-3069). Please include the date and time of your appointment, as well as the confirmation number given to you by the appointment call center. Consular staff will determine whether your petition is registered in PIMS, and if it is not, will request that the petition be verified and added to the database. Please note that we are able to verify petitions in PIMS only for individuals applying at the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana. If you have scheduled an appointment at a different U.S. consulate or embassy, please contact NIV staff there directly with any questions you have regarding processing your petition-based visa.
While the Visa section endeavors to provide the most expeditious service possible, please bear in mind that there is no guarantee of same-day service. Visa processing can often take days, sometimes longer. We strongly encourage applicants residing outside Tijuana to plan their trip accordingly.

For me they took around 12 days to grant the visa. I went there with I-979, Employment Verification Letter, and Pay stubs.
They didn't ask me anything other than my job responsibilitles.
I am fulltime employee.
Thanks,

He is also a fulltime employee. You may need a client letter and also the job description letter from your manager.
