Hi all a very newbie to DSLR here about to purchase my first...I have had many P&S's and love taking pics though not looking beyond my own personal hobby. I would love to learn as much as I can and take many different types of photos. I figure I will need to buy a good lens, though I am not far enough in researching to know what I will need.
I'll appreciate any recommendations and opinions !
Thank you.

if you love the portability of p&s and want to upgrade the image quality, go with panasonic GF2, or olympus e-pen or fugifilm x-100.
for DSLR, you can choose any entry level camera from canon or nikon. but make sure to buy 50mm 1.8f along with it.

I just bought Canon Rebel T2i with basic lens. I am loving it so far and thinking to buy better lens because the basic lens is 18-55mm and you can not zoom in far objects. But it will be a good practice for beginer in DSLR like me.
