 are u using Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 and official firmware ??and surprised that u have unlocked baseaband and u ddint install cydia at taht time ..

Yes, I had used redsnow 0.9.6rc16 and used firmware suggested.............cydia is installed to my phone, but whenever I tried to run cydia it says preaparing filesystem......cydia will exit when finish..........and then iphone restarts again........and same problem in a loop.........

are u saying u are trying to open installed cydia on ur phone and having problem with that or you are having trouble to do jailbreak ??? if u have cydia installed already and its not working the best bet is to jailbreak again!! u have to use the ipsw from the apple not the customized ipsw!!!

Just had a quick question about an iPhone (while we're at it). 

I'm sending a iPhone4 to a friend of mine but I'm wondering if I need to be cautious about the version of the OS solely for the purpose of having to not worry about problems while unlocking...

if you are sending an iphone4 u need to be the cautious abt the version of the os!! coz if update to os5 then your baseband will update to 4.11 soemthing i guess!! the unlock baseband is 4.10 by using gevy sim and it works only if you have not tried to unlock it by other way!!!!stay out of update unless you really need it!!!! for me !! m waiting for siri to bhe ported for my iphone4::p!!!! no need of 4s!!m not buying a 4s just for 8 megapixel camera!! my cannon does it better!!!

@footyfan!!! ebay is expensive!!! i bought 32 gig iphone black!! brand new in condition for 180$!!! from buddhi nabhako kaale!! if u are buying iphone 4 dont put more than 300 i wud say!!! i bought couple phones for 300 but those mofos had ios5 installed and m stuck waiting for the unlock!!its possible to jailbreak and unlock but m too bored to try downgrade and i believe apple is still signing for the older firmwares...!!!! and ritthe i think rite now no one can say when they will release the unlock!!! u can follow devteam ..muslclenerd...comex or any of those guys....and i guess the unlock wont be totally new instead it would be on flashing the baseband or maybe downgrading to the older version!!!!ahhh wait maybe 5.16.05 is downgradable to 6.15.00[citation needed:p] u can take your own risks and do it... i haven't tried it!!!

 No progress yet.............even tiny umbrella doesn't work for me.........could u plz guys provide me a download link for tiny umbrella of 4.3.3 band and 6.15.0 baseband.

 Thank you guys, Finally after 6 hours for rigurous following through the document. I finally downgraded , untethered jailboroke and unlocked my iphone 3gs which was running 4.3.4 which supports only tethered jailbroke.
