Dear all,
I have problem with microsoft word. I want to type in the answers as I answer them in BOLD. Is that possible? My professor gives homework and he wants us to write the answers in BOLD. I hate to go to every answer, select the text and make it bold. Can't I just type the answers in bold? I do not want to use the format painter eveytime.
THank you

Dear ShivaNagar,
I am not trying to be lazy but I have some 50 plus questions and I have to insert answers in between them in BOLD. I am trying to find out if we have some smart idea to do.
Thank you for your post. I really was not looking for using CTRL B button because I have to press it everytime I enter answers. Your response for putting macros seemed useful, but I still did not get how to use it. Can you please guide me through the steps?
Thank you so mucj Shivanagar!!

Alternatively you can selct all the answers by pressing CTRL while you leftclick and drag your mouse. Select one answer, then when selecting other, answer just click ctrl. This selects only the area you want and not all; after all of your answers are highlighted just hit bold on the formattin palette. If you dont get this just send me a file, ill do it for you.

Dude,
I always spend more time writing macros to do some stuffs that i would have done in few minutes. But its fun to have something cool and may be used later.......
So, do you use word 2007 or 10:
whatever, go to view macro...
write "i_am_not_lazy" ,then create
You will see MS visual basic editor
in between
sub i_am_not_lazy()
and
end sub
paste
Dim para As Paragraph
Dim i As Integer
i = 1
For Each para In Selection.Paragraphs
If i Mod 2 = 0 Then
para.Range.Font.Bold = True
Else
para.Range.Font.Bold = False
End If
i = i + 1
Next
and then close, go to the macros and select what ever u want alternate bold and run the macro "i_am_not_lazy"
here is the result...

Dear Shivanagar, I appreciate you so much sir!! You know what, I have been spending so many hours searching if this function is available on the Internet. As a matter of fact I took a computer course which taught me all but not this. How did you generate that text for macros? Next time if I want them to make all red or anything how can I do that? If you have any useful website please write that down for me. I really appreciate your work. Another thing is that why did they make it so complex? I think they should make one button which helps "lock" the format and let us type only in bold or italic on that document. Don't tell me lazy again. This is just my thought. Maxpayne, thanks bro! It was so funny that you told me to send the file and you will do that for me. Don't get me wrong guys, I am not getting lazy but I want to explore things. Earlier I didn't know that a general guy like me could create fillable form in word. I thought only programmers and computer pros could do that. But now by looking at videos I can even make fillable forms. Thanks again for replying guys. Have a good night!
