@Dolphin – We are all young professional Nepalese living in DC metropolitan area. We have had years of experience in our respective fields and have come together for a common cause (you can also view our profile @ (http://www.nepalesesummerfest.com/about-us). As for your second question, we have solely dedicated this event towards providing better quality and satisfaction. We want to bring our community together under one roof and also feature and help those who have relentlessly worked hard towards improving quality of life back in Nepal (non-profit organizations). However, this event success depends on you and others alike. We need your input and feedback or any suggestions you can provide. This event is an open event where your voice really matters. So we urge everyone to submit any feedback or input thru our website and/or if you are interested in performing/playing at any of our events please use the submission forms.

Thank you,
Nepalese SummerFest Team

Who are the keynote speakers?

If you are targeting Nepalese young professional crowd, it looks like you'd have to include diversified technical/non-technical forums with strong enterpreneurial focus, talk about investment ideas here and back, showcase startups and promote Nepalese enterpreneurship. That agenda can very well inspire young and aspiring Nepalese around joining this SummerFest, and if it was not the intention pardon me.

Besides, I see you guys are awesome already for socials. No comments on that. Keep it up.

Hello Sleepless,

Thank you for your concern and comment. Yes, we recognize our community needs speakers on business and entrepreneurial development success here and back home. We want to setup an engaging forum for network of professionals working in the field of entrepreneurship and enterprise development.

We aim to have SummerFest  a career networking platform for people having difficulties finding new or better jobs. We have approached a prestigious Intellectual Property law firm who will be talking to our scientific Nepalese community (electrical engineers, scientists, masters degree in a technical field) about growing patent field and possible job opportunities (and visa sponsorships).  We are also hoping our local Nepalese business men and woman will take the initiative to help find our DV lottery winners find jobs or better yet hire them. We want to help all skill levels.

We are also trying our best to reach out to Congressmen and Senators who have been working on socio economic policies for Nepal and have an interactive session with them.

We also want SummerFest to be a place for all non-profits working on developmental work in Nepal to network with each other, share their mission and strategies for accomplishing their goal. We believe there are a lot of organizations that are working on towards similar cause and think it would be a good idea for some of them to collaborate. As of now, our non-profits partners are GMIN (Grass Root Movement in Nepal) and NYF (Nepal Youth Foundation).

We haven't yet finalized our keynote speakers but we will keep you guys posted. In the meantime, if you have any ideas about forums, speakers or events- please let us know.

Sleepless (and dear sajha readers), is there anyone you would be interested in hearing from as a speaker at the event? What should these entrepreneurship forums entail? Do you have any other forum or workshops ideas?

Needless to say, we look forward to your suggestions and feedback. We should all come together and make this event beneficial for our community.

And yes, we have an awesome line-up of FUN events planned for everyone.

Thank you,

Nepalese SummerFest Team
