 Janakpur blast victims declared martyrs

The government has declared four persons who were killed in an explosion in Janakpur on Monday as martyrs. The cabinet meeting held this afternoon at Singha Durbar declared Ranju Jha, Jhargu Mandal, Bimal Sharan and Suresh Upadhyaya as martyrs. They were killed in the explosion when they were participating in a sit-in at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpur Monday morning.

The cabinet also decided to provide Rs. 1 million relief aid to the victims’ families each and also offered free medical treatment to the injured people.

The cabinet also decided to promote Armed Police Force´s DIG Krishna Kumar Tamang to the post of additional inspector general (AIG) according to Finance Minister Barshaman Pun.

Minister Pun said no formal discussion was held in the meeting about dissolving the cabinet to pave way for a national consensus government as per the agreement reached among major political parties on Wednesday
