Hello Folks,
One of my friend who recently graduated with business degree is trying to get into IT field through Consultancy who can sponsor his H1.Assuming everything goes as planned regarding training, placement, and needed documents, what is the chance that USCIS will approve his H1 petition as his major doesnot fall under IT.
If any of you have any experience in this matter, please share it. we'd really appreciate.
Thanks!

Hey Hawascript,
I have seen examples of people working in different field than thair major and getting the H1B approved as well as GC. It depends on where you work and depends on the USCIS. Sometimes its just pure luck, sometimes its just bad luck. Sometimes even if you get it under your own, you dont get the petition approved. But most of the people who as done Business as their major, they have filed their H1B as a Business Analyst or a QA which isn't that bad and has been approved for it.
Hope this helps you.
Regards,
Mercy
